about me

Hi, I'm Brooke!

A graduate from Mount Saint Vincent University with her Bachelor of Public Relations degree. I am fluently bilingual in English and French and am eager to take the PR world by storm!

I was born and raised in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, a place I have called home for the past 27 years. While in my senior year of high school, I stumbled across the Public Relations program at the Mount by coincidence, but I am confident without a doubt that this profession was made for someone like me. So after having my "Eureka!" moment, I packed up my life and moved one province east to the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Throughout my education, I have had the pleasure of learning from incredibly talented educators and professionals in the areas of advanced communications and language arts. I have used these resources to my advantage by honing these skills and making them my greatest strengths. This career has been a natural progression for me, as the PR world is the best way for me to utilize my abilities.

During my journey at the Mount, I completed three Co-op work terms within the public relations and communications field. My first four-month placement was with the New Brunswick Museum in Saint John, NB where I negotiated with the MSVU Co-op Office and the museum's board of directors to create a dual position for myself as a Bilingual Interpreter (a position I have now had seasonally for three years) and a Communications Coordinator. I acted as a liaison between the departments of Programming and Communications/Marketing, and developed both amazing experience and confidence in myself as a professional.

I completed my second work term at the Centre for Women in Business, a resource centre for women owned businesses within the province of Nova Scotia. The highlight of this semester was planning a 400+ guest breakfast for International Women's Day on March 8th, 2019. I had the chance to work with some fascinating individuals, meet a lot of inspiring professional women, and was also introduced to the industry of voiceover work

For my third and final Co-op placement, I was selected by the Canada Games Centre Halifax to take on the role of Marketing Assistant within the department of Communications, Marketing and Sponsorship. Here, I assisted in managing the 10 000+ members of their impressive facility, along with the strong relationship the Centre maintains with the extended Halifax community.

In addition to the many gifted educators and professionals that have shaped me as both a student and a person, one of my greatest mentors was my grandfather and from a very young age, he instilled in me the passion of writing and storytelling. This is where my talents in communication have grown from, and it is my aspiration in life to make my Granddad proud.

Every organization has a story to tell, and it gives me great joy and excitement to be the one who gets to share it.
